Product Safety, Precautions & Disclaimer

This page applies to all Avulen products, including any device that uses massage, vibration, heat, or gentle traction/decompression. Please read it in full before using any Avulen device. By purchasing or using an Avulen product, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted the guidelines below.

Important Notice

Avulen products are non-medical wellness devices intended for comfort, relaxation, and everyday muscle tension relief. They have not been evaluated or approved by the FDA, MHRA, or any other regulatory authority, and are not designed to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any illness, injury, or medical condition.

Nothing on our website, packaging, or marketing materials should be interpreted as medical advice. Avulen products are not a substitute for professional medical care. If you have a health concern, an existing condition, or are unsure whether a device is suitable for you, speak with a licensed healthcare professional before use.

Before You Begin

  • Avulen devices are intended for adults aged 18 and over.
  • Read the included instructions fully before first use.
  • Start at the lowest intensity and shortest duration, then adjust gradually to what feels comfortable.
  • If you are uncertain about your suitability, get medical clearance first.

Stop Using Immediately If You Experience

  • Increased or sharp pain during or after use
  • Numbness, tingling, or symptoms radiating into the arms, hands, or legs
  • Dizziness, lightheadedness, headache, or nausea
  • Skin redness, irritation, swelling, blistering, or discolouration
  • Any unexpected or unexplained discomfort

If symptoms persist after stopping, seek medical attention.

Use With Caution — Seek Medical Guidance First

If any of the following apply to you, use Avulen products carefully, at reduced intensity and shorter sessions, and ideally after speaking with your doctor:

  • Controlled high blood pressure
  • Reduced bone density (osteopenia)
  • Pregnancy (medical guidance is required before using vibration or traction)
  • Diabetes or conditions affecting circulation or sensation
  • Varicose veins (depending on severity)
  • Areas of numbness, tingling, or altered sensation
  • Heightened sensitivity to pressure, heat, or vibration
  • A recent injury, strain, or surgery (only once fully healed)
  • Mild scoliosis or other mild spinal differences
  • Medication that affects sensation or blood clotting
  • Peripheral neuropathy or mild circulatory issues
  • Recent cosmetic or skin procedures on the area of use
  • Reactive, fragile, or condition-prone skin

When in doubt, lower the settings and shorten the session — or pause use and consult a professional.

Where Not to Apply

Never place an Avulen device directly on or over:

  • The eyes or eyelids
  • The front or sides of the throat
  • The groin or genital area
  • Major arteries (such as the carotid or femoral arteries)
  • Open wounds or unhealed incisions
  • Any area with active inflammation or infection

Heat Therapy — Specific Cautions

Do not use heat features if you have reduced sensitivity to heat, a circulatory disorder, broken or sensitive skin, or a condition made worse by warmth. Do not apply heat over topical products such as menthol or analgesic creams. Check your skin regularly during use to avoid overheating or burns, and never fall asleep while a heated device is in use.

Massage & Vibration — Specific Cautions

Avoid massage or vibration over areas with active inflammation, open wounds, severe varicose veins, muscle tears, or significant muscular injury, and over regions affected by impaired sensation or neuropathy. Do not apply directly over bones, surgical implants, metal hardware, or any lump or growth.

Traction & Decompression — Specific Cautions

Avulen devices apply only light decompression. Do not use the traction function if you have spinal instability, severe osteoporosis, severe scoliosis, a recent neck or back surgery, or a disc extrusion that has not been medically cleared. The device should never restrict your breathing or circulation. If you feel unusual pressure, tightness, or discomfort, stop immediately.

Materials & Allergies

Avulen devices may include components made from silicone, TPU, ABS plastic, foam, nylon, and metal. Do not use a device if you have a known allergy or sensitivity to any of these materials.

Electrical & Environmental Safety

  • Do not use in wet or damp environments, and keep charging parts away from liquids.
  • Do not operate near flammable gases or in an explosive atmosphere.
  • Do not use a device with a damaged cable, charger, battery, or housing.
  • Do not modify or attempt to repair any device or its power components.

Not Suitable For

Avulen devices are not intended for use by children, by individuals with cognitive impairment, or by anyone unable to operate the device safely or to communicate discomfort. Vulnerable users must be supervised at all times.

Warranty & Liability — Void Conditions

Warranty and liability protections do not apply if a device is:

  • Modified, repaired, or tampered with in any way
  • Used in a manner it was not designed for
  • Used in a way that ignores these safety guidelines or contraindications
  • Used while sleeping (unless explicitly stated as safe to do so)
  • Applied to any of the restricted areas listed above
